Living by faith is living by the confidence that others have in your
ministry. I pray that this ministry has earned your trust. We have walked together for many years sharing God's love. Let's see if we can continue for one more year.
Allow
me a moment to share with you something I learned about the working of the
Lord. Notice the need of his ministry and his prayer request to
his disciples.
Mat 9:36 But when he (THE
LORD) saw the multitudes, he was
moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad,
as sheep having no shepherd. Mat 9:37 Then saith he
unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the
labourers are few; Isn’t it a shame that
laborers are few? Somebody must have refused to go or someone must have refused
to give! Mat 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will
send forth labourers into his harvest.
See what Jesus saw. He saw that the harvest was plenteous
(meaning many people). He saw that the laborers were few. Notice what he told them
to do. I believe that Jesus has told his children to go, but most will not do so. I
believe that the Lord has commanded His children to supply but many have chosen to
disobey.
When you think of some of the Hymns at Christmas Time consider:
1. Go Tell It on The Mountain but never tell it in the Valley.
2. I Love to tell the Story but never tell a soul.
3. Joy to the World but never tell the World
I suppose traveling across America for 8-9 months each year in our motor-home produces a little fear and apprehensions about our health, safety, provisions and even directions. But, I have a greater fear of not going if I can. I do not fear the chastening hand of the Lord, but I fear the eternal consequences of souls I did not reach or believers I did not challenge or encourage to serve the Lord.
